Northern Light Productions created an exit experience and reflection zone for the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21. We served as prime contractor to oversee the design and fabrication of this area, and produced its central feature: a film celebrating the contributions of immigrants to Canada.
The 11-minute animation-driven film explores the contributions of immigrants through the lenses of family, sense of place, economy, culture, sports, and innovation. Visitors can view the film projected onto a giant curved wall immersing them in creative and dynamic imagery. Carefully crafted sound design allows for a variety of auditory experiences within the open theater space, while ensuring that sound does not bleed into other areas of the exhibits.
Adjacent to the theater is the reflection zone where visitors are prompted to reflect and share their own stories through an array of activities.
