NLP created eight programs for the refurbished Jimmy Carter National Historic Site in the 39th President’s hometown of Plains, Georgia. This National Park Service visitor center is located in the high school President Carter attended while growing up. The media programs blend together archival footage, original interviews with local residents, and filming we did in and around Plains – including the 2019 Peanut Festival.
Our work included linear films that explore the President and Rosalynn Carter’s ongoing work with the Carter Center, as well as their deep and enduring connection with the town of Plains. A fully accessible touchscreen interactive showcases the most important moments in Carter’s presidency. Our evocative soundscapes make the school come alive, immersing visitors in the era in which Jimmy Carter was a young student.
