Northern Light Productions created the film Our Promise: 100 Years of the American Battle Monuments Commission to commemorate the centennial of the American Battle Monuments Commission (ABMC).
ABMC administers the United States’s cemeteries and memorials abroad. The film provides a unique behind-the-scenes look at the Agency’s ongoing work to honor the legacy, service, and sacrifice of U.S. Armed Forces. Featuring beautiful original cinematography filmed on location in Hawaii, Europe, and the Philippines, this documentary introduces viewers to the many men and women who steward America’s overseas cemeteries and memorials. The film also features descendants of those interred at the cemeteries who pay visits to their loved ones.
Directed by Andrew Kukura, the film has screened at the National Archives, National World War II Museum, World War I Museum, Smithsonian Institution, and Pritzker Library among other prestigious institutions.
