Permanent Exhibit
Northern Light Productions produced multiple media experiences for the new interpretive center located at over 14,000 feet on the summit of Pikes Peak.
On the summit, visitors can access the custom "Explore Pikes Peak Summit" mobile app. The app invites visitors to discover the natural history and beauty of Pikes Peak by playing a quiz game and exploring a nature photo gallery.
Upon entering the complex, the “My Pikes Peak Touchwall” lets visitors explore why so many people call Pikes Peak “America’s Mountain.” The touch wall is a dynamic and ever-changing display that showcases visitors’ images and hometowns. Visitors can upload their photos at the Peak via social media or the Explore Pikes Peak Summit mobile app. The app also allows them to customize their photos with stickers unlocked by their quiz answers.

Inside, an immersive 180-degree film introduces visitors to the majesty of Pikes Peak and its colorful history. It weaves together spectacular scenic footage filmed in all four seasons, historical archival imagery, and a soaring soundtrack. Below the projection, a 3D model of the mountain and the surrounding front range adds scale and orientation for visitors. At various points during the film, lights highlight corresponding areas on the model.
Throughout the galleries, visitors encounter several touchscreen interactives that inspire further exploration. Themes include geology, ecology, history, and recreational opportunities. A donor interactive highlights the generosity of those who helped bring this project to life. All interactive exhibits can be updated using a cloud-based Content Management System so Pikes Peak can keep content fresh.
