The JB and Johnelle Hunt Family Ozark Highlands Nature Center is a hub for learning about the natural world and outdoor recreation in Northwest Arkansas. Northern Light designed and produced two dynamic environmental programs for the center.
Overhead, visitors can watch the “The Overhead Canopy” program. In three areas—representing spring, fall, and winter—two adjacent monitors are mounted to the ceiling, nestled into surrounding foliage. Birds found during that season fly across its monitors, and visitors can trigger which to view in fall. The birds were created as 3D animations.

The “Digital Stream Interactive" is integrated into the floor and spans eight monitors, evoking the feel of a long stream, which flows directly into an actual large aquarium tank space. The stream is rendered in realistic 3D animation and is fully interactive. As visitors cross the stream, they hear splashing sounds as the water pools beneath their feet. They can stop to enjoy fish and turtles swimming by, or if they step onto the stream, the creatures dart away.
