Michela studied Sociology, Film Studies, and Linguistics at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and cut her teeth in the film industry working as an archival assistant on a Hulu-released true crime series and as a production assistant on-set of an HBO Max series. Since joining NLP as an Associate Producer in 2021, she has used her research and analytical skills working on projects including the Mark Twain Center for Transatlantic Relations in Germany and a film about Frederick Douglass for the National Parks Foundation. She especially enjoys the creative process of finding archival imagery and collaborating with a team to develop a project to the final edit.
Morgan's first time at Northern Light Productions was as a spring intern prior to her completion of her Bachelor's in Communications Media from Fitchburg State University. With her previous experience in student leadership roles like President of Black Student Union and earning "Video Student of the Year Award" her hard work and determination to be a leader for others and do her best has never stopped. Her most recent documentary "Black Lives Matter: Voices of the Past and Present" has also been featured at many festivals such as Middlesex Film Festival, Film FWD Festival, and Newburyport Documentary Film Festival in 2021. Through her work, during college, she has honed in on her interests in documentaries and creating films that focus on educating and bringing awareness to others. In her personal time, Morgan enjoys taking care of her plants, watching anime, and hiking with her family.
Nicole joined Northern Light Productions in 2020, after graduating from Boston University’s film program. Her work at NLP has spanned across several different productions; she is always on her toes for whatever comes next. Nicole is passionate about storytelling and seeks to use editing as a means through which powerful messages can be cultivated and shared, spanning from untold histories to important conversations about social injustice, inequity, and more. At home, she enjoys taking care of her hundreds of houseplants, joined by a freshly brewed cup of coffee.
Kunjal is a graphic designer, typographer with 18+ years of experience in strategic brand design, iconic graphics, interactive design, print, packaging and digital media. A dynamic collaborator with multi-discipline creators, she has an inventive approach to bringing stories to life, from concept to execution. After 15 years in Advertising and Corporate Design, Kunjal now designs for forward-thinking clients with a shared belief in education and social change at Northern Light Production. Passionate about design thinking, she believes that meaningful communication requires a deep understanding of the purpose and the audience. Some of her recent and on-going work includes designing digital interactive exhibits for Museum of Mississippi History, American Writers Museum, Dana-Farber, and the Tennessee State Museum.
Since 1998, Tim Raycroft has been building a body of award-winning work for broadcast, museum, and independent productions. In 2008, Tim completed work on Johnny Cash at Folsom Prison, an account of the country music legend’s seminal concert, which aired on PBS and screened at over 40 international festivals. Tim edited and co-produced the PBS production, Give Me the Banjo, an historical investigation of the instrument narrated by Steve Martin. Recently, Tim Co-Directed and Edited The Gospel According to Charlie and Nighthawks on the Blue Highway. His work in the non-fiction museum side includes acclaimed interpretive media for the Mob Museum, the Tennessee History Museum and the Mississippi History Museum. He holds a BA from Denison University and an MFA from Syracuse.
Nicky has been Northern Light's Bookkeeper since 2001. She's worked in financial administration with various small businesses—both private and public companies—including ten years in law and several years in real estate investment. Adept at bringing her accounting and related business administration skills to multi-faceted small business environments, Nicky especially appreciates the challenges of working with a staff of creative, collaborative professionals in Northern Light's always-changing production environment.
Molly specializes in the design and production of video programs and interactives at Northern Light. She researches, writes, and produces non-fiction, short-format media and interactive exhibits for permanent museum installations. She works with clients from various museums and visitor centers across the country to guide a project from its conceptual phase to the creation of a fully installed audiovisual exhibit. Recently, she produced the award-winning exhibit media about the enslaved community who lived and worked at James Madison’s Montpelier. Molly feels that every project is a chance to learn something new and engage diverse audiences; she holds a BA in English from Wesleyan University.
Matthew came to Northern Light with 10 years of experience as a journalist, where he honed his tight writing style and meticulous editing skills. While continuing a freelance career in print, he's since concentrated on writing for the screen while also utilizing his reporting skills for interviews and research, first as an Associate Producer and today as a Writer and Producer at Northern Light. He holds an MA in Journalism from the University of California, Berkeley, and a BA in Journalism and International Relations from Brigham Young University.
On staff at Northern Light since 1985, Lenny Rotman has played a significant role in numerous major Northern Light museum contracts as Producer, Director, and Project Manager. Much of his work has centered around the National Park Service, including contracts throughout the continental United States, Puerto Rico, and Guam at military parks, historic parks, battlefields, and national monuments. In addition, Lenny has produced media for public broadcast, The Library of Congress, and many nationally recognized state and private museums including the National September 11 Memorial and Museum, the National Navy SEAL Museum, the International Spy Museum, the Louisiana State Museum, the Western Reserve Historical Society, and the Woodstock Museum.
